Boris chooses Housing Association venue to launch his campaign
Boris Johnson has launched his campaign for the London Mayor at a community hall developed by Christian Action Housing in Edmonton, North London.
Chief Executive of Christian Action, Mark Hayes said: “This choice of one of Christian Action’s community projects highlights the investment that London’s Housing Associations make in local neighbourhoods
"Bounces Road Community Hall is part of a one million pound investment made by Christian Action Housing, working in partnership with Enfield Council, to improve the environment, facilities and security on the Bounces Road Estate. In addition to providing a venue for local groups, it is also used as a base for Christian Action’s neighbourhood warden service, youth work and a play project for parents and children living in temporary accommodation.
"Christian Action Housing urges all the candidates for London Mayor to make the provision of good quality affordable housing a top priority. By working in partnership with Housing Associations, the Mayor will be able to secure the housing and services that are needed to create safe, attractive and sustainable communities.”
